Musicianship

I began formal violin instruction in sixth grade orchestra and was involved in community youth orchestras throughout high school. Throughout my time at JMU I have been able to participate in many different ensembles, and have a variety of performance opportunities which have allowed to to grow as a musician. Through taking methods courses, I have become familiar with techniques for instruments in the woodwind and brass families which have helped me be more well rounded as a musician and have prepared me to instruct other instrument families.

Due to school closures from the COVID-19 outbreak, I made a series of instructional videos for each of the orchestra classes at my block 4 placement to aid in distance learning. The shifting video was geared for all of the students in all classes, then there are videos dedicated to the excerpts each class was working on.
