My name is Abby Volcansek and I am an undergraduate student at James Madison University studying music education. I'm originally from Texas, but I am currently loving living in Virginia. After I graduate, I hope to be a music teacher in public schools, have my own violin studio, and play in local orchestras and chamber music groups. My primary instrument is violin, but I also enjoy playing guitar and piano. Some of my hobbies include skiing, hiking, and sailing with my family.
My Professional Vision
I hope to be able to provide an inclusive environment that fosters students creativity. I believe that music can come from many places and take many different forms. My goal as a music educator is to give students the tools to recognize different forms of music, to provide an encouraging, safe learning community, and to help students have a life long appreciation for the arts.
